Fibrin exposure increases platelet ADAM10 activity and GPVI shedding in a charge dependent manner

April 16, 2020

I am a postdoc interested in the roles of platelets and platelet receptors in thrombus formation and stability. I completed a PhD on platelet activation in trauma and inflammation with the Birmingham Platelet Group (UK), under the supervision of Professor Watson, before moving to Australia to work with Professor Gardiner (Australian National University, Canberra). In Australia, I completed a 3-year postdoctoral position exploring the mechanisms behind platelet GPVI shedding and ADAM10 activity following fibrin exposure. We also collaborated with Dr Lee (Research School of Engineering, ANU) to develop label-free imaging techniques for visualising and quantitating thrombus formation and stability.
