Dr. Kapur trained in the Netherlands as a medical doctor (MD) as well as a biologist (MSc), with a PhD in Immunohematology. After conducting his post-doctoral research in Toronto, Canada (2 years) and Lund, Sweden (2 years), he started his own research group at Sanquin Research, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His research interests are in Transfusion Medicine, with a focus on the pathophysiology of adverse transfusion reactions such as TRALI and TACO, and allo- and autoimmune blood cell disorders such as ITP. His international research awards include the AABB RISE award (2015) and the ISBT Jean Julliard Prize (2018).
