From snake venoms to therapeutic proteins: insights on factors V and X structure-function relationships
June 15, 2020
My research focuses on structure-function analysis of blood coagulation proteins with the overall goal of discovering novel protein therapeutics to treat bleeding. By studying homologous proteins that exist in, for instance, snake venom, I aim to gain a deeper insight into protein functioning and uncover novel characteristics. My research group is based at the Div. of Thrombosis and Hemostasis at the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, The Netherlands.
